    Scientific Name: Phrynomerus bifasciata

    Approximate Full Size: 3 inches
    Native Region: Africa
    Temperament: Peaceful
    Diet: Their diet consists of large insects such as crickets or mealworms.
    Lighting Requirements: Full spectrum UV lighting will bring out the natural coloring of the frogs.
    Recommended Habitat Size: They should be housed in a humid tropical terrarium landscaped with plenty of live or artificial plants. The terrarium should have an under tank heating pad at one end and a thick layer of soft, slightly moist soil.
     
    These nocturnal ground dwelling frogs are native to tropical and southern subtropical Africa. They are called walking frogs because they lack the jumping ability of most frogs. During the dry season, they seek refuge in hollow trees or burrows in the ground.
